National Research Council (NRC) Assessment of Research Doctorate Programs |
|
| Overview |
According to the Chronicle of Higher Education, the survey understaken by the National Research Council is considered the gold standard for rating American graduate programs.
The influential NRC assessment is used by grant agencies in determining who should receive funding, faculty members wanting to know how their programs rate and graduate students looking for the right place to study. The first survey was published in 1982, and the second in 1995. The third survey will take place this year with survey results to be reported in 2007. Many University of Idaho doctoral programs will be assessed and compared to peer institutions for this study. |
